2. Frequently Asked Questions

2.1 How do I get AI feedback on my entry?

Write a short English diary entry (up to 150 words) on the Write screen, then tap the Feedback button. Our AI will analyze your writing for grammar, vocabulary, and naturalness in about 3–7 seconds. Once you tap Feedback, the entry is locked and cannot be edited.

2.2 What's the difference between Free and Plus?

• Free: 2 AI feedback sessions per week, up to 10 corrections per entry, grammar-focused.
• Plus: Daily AI feedback, every correction explained in detail, native speaker rewrites, 2 follow-up questions per entry, and weekly/monthly progress reports.

You can upgrade anytime from the Subscribe screen in the app.

2.3 How do I cancel my Plus subscription?

Plus subscriptions are managed by Apple. To cancel:

1. Open the iOS Settings app
2. Tap your Apple ID at the top
3. Tap Subscriptions
4. Select Lingu Diary Plus and tap Cancel Subscription

You can also manage subscriptions at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. You'll keep Plus features until the end of the current billing period.

2.4 I want a refund.

Payments are processed by Apple, so we can't issue refunds directly. Please request a refund through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Most "unintended purchase" requests are processed within a few days.

Important: Deleting your Lingu Diary account does not cancel your Apple subscription. Be sure to cancel through Apple ID settings before deleting your account to avoid future charges.

2.5 What happens to my data when I delete my account?

When you delete your account, all personally identifiable data (diary entries, learning statistics, email, authentication information) is permanently and immediately deleted.

For legal compliance, certain billing records (Apple transaction IDs, product IDs, payment dates) are retained in an anonymized form for up to 5 years. These records cannot be linked back to you personally.

2.6 Is my diary data safe?

Yes. All data is transmitted using HTTPS/SSL encryption and stored securely on Supabase. Your diary entries are private and used only to provide AI feedback and personal learning statistics.
